¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵÓÈÎïÊÓƵtoday announced the appointment of Saverio Longo as Country Leader, Italy. He will join ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵin November and will be based in Milan. He succeeds Simona Fumagalli, who was appointed Head of International Financial Lines, Europe.

In his new role, Mr. Longo will be responsible for further integrating AXA XL’s insurance operations in Italy, shaping and implementing the company’s strategy and increasing its footprint in the country. Along with the local underwriting teams and in close collaboration with AXA Italia, he will play a critical role in the development of new propositions and innovative solutions to better address the needs of the Italian market.

Commenting on the appointment, Bruno Laval, Regional Leader, Europe at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ said: “Italy’s gross domestic product is the third largest in the Eurozone. It is home to a wealth of companies exporting and operating throughout the region. It is a key market for ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵin Europe and I am delighted to welcome Saverio to ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ whose impressive background and reputation position him ideally to lead our Italian operations.”

Mr. Longo joins ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵfrom Zurich ÓÈÎïÊÓƵCompany Ltd where he held several senior leadership positions, most recently Head of Commercial ÓÈÎïÊÓƵfor Italy.
