XL Catlin’s insurance operations today announced the appointment of Aurélie Fallon Saint-Lo as Senior Underwriter, Environmental and Client & Distribution Leader for Western France, effective June 4.

Based in Brest, Ms. Fallon Saint-Lo will contribute to the development of XL Catlin’s environmental insurance business in France while taking on responsibility for maintaining and building relationships with brokers and clients in western France.

Commenting on the appointment, Ludovic Ruiller, Underwriting Manager, France & Benelux, said: “Companies are increasingly aware of the need to minimise their environmental exposures and to have effective risk transfer solutions in place. To meet that demand, we have invested in the team across Europe and, now, in France. I am delighted to have Aurélie join the team; she is recognised for her professionalism in the French market and brings with her 16 years of experience in environmental risks management and insurance.”

François-Xavier d’Huart, Head of Client & Broker Management for France, added: “After appointing Mathieu de Roquemaurel as a Client and Distribution Leader based in Lyon last year, Aurélie’s appointment is a key step in our local distribution strategy as she will help further strengthen the relationship between our underwriters and regional brokers.”

Ms. Fallon Saint-Lo started her career as an environmental engineer for various organisations including Lafarge and Suez Environnement. Prior to joining XL Catlin, she had been leading Chubb’s Environmental risks team in France since 2011.

As part of XL Catlin’s strategic commitment to FERMA as one of its five Partners in Excellence, Ms Fallon Saint-Lo will take part in a workshop titled “Managing Environmental Liability Directive exposures” at FERMA’s which will be held in Antwerp, Belgium on October 8 & 9, 2018.
